About us ...
Once upon a time, in a small town called Waterville, there lived a girl called Cathy who restored furniture as a hobby. Well, as things go, one thing led to another and the next thing you knew, she had a garage full of tools. Folk art was slowly becoming popular in the area and she had more and more demand to cut out pieces of wood for the artists of the region. She enjoyed this and even found some spare time to let her creativity take over and make some original and unique wood pieces to call her own.
In a land across the cornfields, in a town called Lennoxville , there lived a girl called Linda who was an interior decorator. She dabbled in everything artsy from macramé and weaving to oil painting and water colors. One day, she was introduced to decorative art and that was that! From then on, everything around her was a project begging to be painted. Further down the road, she began teaching and with the encouragement of a friend and teacher, she started to design her own patterns. Her favourite things to paint are the models from her teddy bear collection.
One day, after a few years of teaching at a small arts and crafts store, she was introduced to Cathy. The rest is history, as they say. Cathy’s fertile imagination and amazing work ethic along with Linda’s constant search for the practical and beautiful, produced pieces that they are both still proud of today……I guess you could call them classics.
They took the name of Ideas Unlimited and then changed to Cat Lin Art in 2004 at the creation of their web site.
Now, unlike your usual fairy tale, there is no ending to this story.
It is a continual journey into the world of decorative art and they welcome you to tag along.
Their dreams have brought them this far and their future commitment is to bring the best of ideas to the decorative painter with all the enthusiasm and creativity they could muster. They believe that painting and woodworking, at any level of expertise, are stress relievers and an expression of oneself that is unique ONLY to the one behind the brush or the saw.
They are pleased to be able to share their love for this art form with you.
